We have application mentors from all of the top Universities, waiting to help you maximise your essay writing and application potential - tailored to the Universities you are interested in! We currently have two different kinds of 'mentor' on this site. These are Application mentors, and University mentors. Application Mentors Students from top Universities in the USA are here to help you with all aspects of your application - giving you guidance on procedures, and what admissions officers are looking for. You can book 1 hour of email, instant-messaging, or skype communication with one of these mentors through the 'Services' area of the SmartUni Connect site (link to the right). They will be capable of answering all kinds of questions, and give specific advice in relation to your application. In order to maximise the value that you get, the Mentor assigned to you (from one of the schools you wish to apply to) will contact you to request to view any pertinent essays/applications. With one hour of a Mentor's time, you will get detailed feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of your materials, along with specific pointers and suggestions on how to improve them. Your mentor will attempt to place his/her corrections within the context of that University's application procedure (every single University is different). Further hours can be booked for further drafts, or to organise a "Content Session". Content Sessions Because each University is different, each University looks for certain traits in individual applicants. You already have one of these - an International perspective on issues! Our mentors can work with you to develop a plan of action for the months before your application is due, in order to give you the chance to enhance your application with focused extra-curricular activities, or by offering advice on how to pursue your interests in a way that would make you a prized applicant. This kind of guidance can really distinguish your application from everybody elses, with minimum effort on your part, and maximum results! These mentors can be contacted directly by email, and are there to answer questions about their own University - such as the range of courses, campus life, extra-curricular activities etc.. They will not offer specific application help, though they may sometimes be linked to that University's admissions office (so write formally!).
